The time when I was my best was last year when I built picnic tables for my Eagle Project that was required for receiving the rank of Eagle in Boy Scouts, which is the highest rank and honor that a Scout can receive.
This project must be planned and carried out solely by the Scout, in addition to that, they must also plan and attend a series of reviews which approve and evaluate what you did, what you learned, what you thought of the project, and what you wished you could have done better.
It was a great chance to prove and hone my leadership ablities by contacting county officials, and scheduling days for the tables to be assembled and making sure people would be there. I had to put my best effort into each and every aspect of the project, because if I didn't pay attention to every aspect, it wouldn't be my best effort, therefore the quality would not be the greatest.
I wasn't sure what would happen when I took it upon myself to do this, but it was just the matter of time, I needed a certain amount of time ot do a certain amount of things, so in all reality it came down to time management and a dose of motivation to do those things. The feeling of accomplishment came when I had the Scouts bolt the tables down and sat down on them for the first time. I knew that I had done something that people would be able to enjoy for many years to come.
Michael that's so cool that you could give back to the community in this way! Also, building good time management skills in high school is really going to help you in your transition to college life.
